Forest Beat would like to make residents aware of reports of potential scam callers, both over the telephone and visiting addresses, claiming to be from North West Leicestershire District Council.

Please remain vigilant, particularly if someone contacts you unexpectedly or calls at your home.

✅ Stop and think before providing any personal or financial information.
✅ Do not feel pressured into making a decision or payment on the spot.
✅ If someone visits your address, ask for identification and verify who they are independently before allowing them into your home.
✅ If you are unsure, keep the door closed and do not engage.
✅ Please look out for elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends and neighbours who may be particularly concerned by unexpected callers.
